STOP PRESS

1/7/20. Our chair, Hilary Vare, has written our Annual Report for the 12 months 2019/2020. Click here to read it (PDF).
Hilary also wrote to Cecil Sharp House with some queries regarding our Insurance during the current pandemic. Click here for the reply (PDF).

7/5/20. Please note that "Folk Sales" is now under new management. Click here for a letter from Derek Appleing, which explains things.

With the current coronavirus pandemic, it appears that ALL forms of social gatherings are risky, so folk dance club meetings, dances, concerts etc. are no longer taking place. Don't leave the house to go to any such events without checking whether they're going ahead or not!

There will be no spring edition of Puddingstone as, with all the cancellations, there won't be much to put in it! Any articles of general interest will be carried forward to the following edition.

What is the Hertfordshire Folk Association, and what does it do?

The object of the Association is to:

It publishes a magazine called "Puddingstone" three times a year, runs workshops, and provides financial support to other folk activities in the county. It maintains "Diary Dates", which is a list of dances that are being run by the affiliated clubs (and others), and awards the Bill Ranscombe Award to people who have made a significant contribution to English Folk Music, Dance & Song in Hertfordshire.

Membership costs £2 per year for an individual, £3 per year for a household, and £10 per year for a group or club. If you'd like to join, click here for an application form (PDF), that you can print out and complete.

The members elect a committee at the Annual General Meeting, and this committee meets every couple of months, to plan the activities. (Next meeting: 9th June, at Adrian's, with the following one pencilled in for 15th September.)
